Travis Murao: Canada Cup
Well, the Canada Cup has come and gone with another second place finish for us. I know the level of competition was quite high but I can't help feel disappointed in the result. At the same time, it is somewhat heartening to know that we are right there and more than capable of coming out on top.
This year's Canada Cup saw the emergence of a new impact player on the international scene (Daisuke Ikezaki from Japan) and the reclassification of veteran players Troye Collins (GB) and Steve Porter (AUS).
It was also great to see my hetero-life-partner Trevor Hirschfield win honors for top 1.0 and the big blond ape Garrett Hickling win best 3.5. Both were well-deserved awards for a tournament well played. I'm not forgetting Dave or Pat either; both played awesome, but it's kind of what we've come to expect from our team captain and our silent french ninja assassin.
Right now we're all back home, back in our training routines and all eagerly awaiting the upcoming July training camp.
